Kamaldeen Kolawole Lawal Declares Candidacy for IOSUG President, Unveils Vision for Progress

Kamaldeen Kolawole Lawal, a student of Kwara State University pursuing Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering, has officially declared his aspiration for the Office of the President of the Ife-Olukotun Students Union Government (IOSUG). A proud native of Eretuntun Compound, Kamaldeen outlined his comprehensive agenda centered on innovative development, engagement and advocacy, student welfare, and forward-thinking leadership.

His vision includes improving academic resources at all levels, creating platforms for students to connect and collaborate in union activities, addressing the needs and concerns of students, and delivering impactful actions to drive positive change.

Reflecting on his contributions during the incumbent administration, Kamaldeen emphasized his dedication to supporting the union. “I gave my best to assist in areas that needed attention, communicated effectively, and ensured that positive agendas were implemented. I believe two years is enough to set goals and complete them,” he stated.

Acknowledging the incumbent’s efforts, Kamaldeen noted that “no one can be perfect,” while identifying areas where the union needs improvement. “IOSUG needs to be bigger, and I have observed key opportunities to expand its influence and improve its operations,” he added.

Addressing concerns about leadership origins, Kamaldeen asserted that competence, not background, defines true leadership. “I understand origin may be a red flag for some, but I am focused solely on my agenda to address student challenges and ensure meaningful progress.”

Kamaldeen Kolawole Lawal’s campaign reflects his commitment to advocacy, innovation, and inclusive leadership, promising a new era of development for the Ife-Olukotun Students Union Government.
